Sofia Kenin claimed Mallorca Open 2019 champion after a great comeback against Belinda Bencic in three sets (6-7 7-6 6-4). Seventh-seeded needed de serie two hours and 45 minutes to beat the swiss, saving three match points, to become the fourth winner in tournament four editions.

One hour needed Bencic to take the opener (7-6). The third-seeded started leading by 3-0 but then Kenin react winning four games in a row to take advantage (3-4). The swiss broke back at eighth game and won the set in tie-break (7-2).

Kenin saved three match points in the second to force the third set. Both players held own serve until ninth game (4-5). Bencic wasted three championship points and seventh-seeded torced the tie-break. Mallorca Open is second Kenin’s title. In her way to final the american beat Kirsten Flipkens in first round (6-2 6-3), Ons Jabeur retired in the second (6-2 2-0 ret.), she had to com back against Elise Mertens in the quarterfinals (1-6 6-1 6-3) and needed three sets against Anastasija Sevastova (6-4 4-6 6-2). In 2019 Kenin conquered also Hobart title beating Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in the final.
