Early Friday matches got first two Mallorca Open 2019 semifinals sports. Belinda Bencic, at draw top half, además de Sofia Kenin, bottom, defeated Elise Mertens and Amanda Anisimova respectively.

Kenin won Centre court opener match. The american came back from a set down against Mertens after a two hours battle (1-6 6-1 6-3). Seventh seeded impressed the fourth thanks her aggressive game and a solid first service. The belgian wasted eight of eleven break points she had. Kenin will search now her third season final. Born in Moscow started the year winning the title in Hobart after defeated Alizé Cornet in semifinals and Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in the final. The second one arrived at February in Acapulco. In last-four she beat  Bianca Andreescu before fall against Yafan Wang.

At schedule’s second game, Bencic gave no chances to Anisimova beating her by a double 6-2 in less than an hour match. The swiss completed the match with four aces and winning six of eleven break points. On the other hand, fifth seeded made eight double faults and played with low service averages: 47 (first) and 29% (second).

World No. 13 will play on Saturday her fourth season semifinals. In Hobart fall against Schmiedlova and only in Dubai advanced to final to win the title after beat Elina Svitolina and Petra Kvitova in the final. Then she reached another two semifinals in Indian Wells (l. to Angelique Kerber) and Madrid (l. to Simona Halep).
