The Mallorca Open is proud to be a WTA tournament played on grass. On International Women’s Day we want to celebrate the most special ambassadors of our event.

Our champions: Caroline Garcia and Anastasija Sevastova have been the first two queens of the Mallorca Open and both have given unforgettable moments to the fans. Both skilled on the grass of the Tennis Club of Santa Ponsa, their triumphs have also served to gain momentum in their respective careers.

The celebration is double when it comes to the competition in pairs. In Mallorca we enjoyed the triumphs of Maria José Martínez and Gabriela Dabrowski in 2016 and the success of Martina Hingis and Yung-Jan Chan in 2017.

Our legends: Ana Ivanovic and Martina Hingis no longer compete on a professional level but both left their mark on Mallorca. Undoubtedly, one of the stars of the first edition of the Mallorca Open in 2016 was Ivanovic. The Serbian, former World No. 1 and Roland Garros champion in 2008, was one of the sensations of the inaugural edition of the tournament. Her connection with Mallorca, where she spends some time during the year, was noticed on court.

In the case of Hingis, her edition was the 2017 one. Champion in doubles with Yung-Jan Chan, the Swiss player is considered one of the best players of all time. After her retirement at the end of last season, her legacy remains more active than ever.

Our future: Angelique Kerber will be at the Mallorca Open 2018. A reason to celebrate the third edition of the event in Mallorca, where fans can enjoy the tennis of a two-time Grand Slam champion, World No. 1 and runner-up at the only Grand Slam that is disputed on grass: Wimbledon.
